Well into Mid life but not in total crisis yet! Well maybe sometimes, especially with memory...
Grew up on Mushroom Farm in the Stellenbosch winelands of the Cape;
Matriculated at Rhenish Girls High School a long time ago;
Married with two delightful adult children [but who don’t always heed Mum’s advice??] and three even more delightful grandchildren who never listen to Granny!!!
Has one dog, four cats, many fish and a garden full of birds;
Loves gardening, hiking in the Bushveld, birding and identifying trees all over South Africa, reading and interior decorating;
Strong spiritual beliefs: Good will always overcome Evil, We are Blessed to be a Blessing and Miracles happen all the time. [We just have to recognise them].
Wise words that have helped her through tough times:
“If Winter comes,
Can Spring be far behind?”
“The Darkest Hour is just before Dawn”
“Every cloud has a silver lining” [even in trauma];
[authors unknown to Dr Di]
True Words that are easily forgotten
“If I am not for me
Who will be for me?”
“If not now, when?”
Most Famous and Meaningful words she ever heard
[aged 8yrs] from Mrs Rita Maas [Cape Town Drama Teacher] and tried to live by;
“This above all
To thine own self be true
And it must follow as the night the day
Thou canst not then be false to any man”
Hamlet- William Shakespeare
